AIMS

Our aims are -

We produce a quarterly 12-page Newsletter with articles, paintings, news from regional groups, details of courses and exhibitions.

We create and publish a calendar each year using members’ paintings.

We offer our members access to a rental video library that currently has over 30 titles that offer guidance on traditional Chinese painting techniques.

We offer a range of unique products to our members including sweatshirts, tee-shirts, brush rolls, bags, aprons and seals.

BACKGROUND
The Society was set up in January 1988 following discussions at a course run by the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding (tutored by Joseph Lo, Qu Lei Lei and Zhong Ming), and soon had over 300 members. Jean Long and Joseph Lo were our first Presidents. Qu Lei Lei carved our Society seal.

Our committees are drawn from the membership, generously giving their time and effort. Over the past 20 years there has been a wide variety of people involved. Many members have formed lasting friendships through the Society and through Chinese brush painting, and have also found personal satisfaction, continued skills development and relaxation.

Our themed colour Newsletters aim to keep our members in touch with the subject and each other. Our AGMs have been held in various locations including London, Birmingham, Richmond, Reading, Manchester, Mansfield, Oxford, Winchester, Stratford–on-Avon, Harefield, Peterborough and Pool.

Since the Society was established, we have been very fortunate to have the support of many Chinese artists based in the UK, China and Malaysia and now our 21st Year, we look forward to more local regional groups joining the excellent existing ones we already have.
